Discussion #1 Wisdom or knowledge?
From the text it says that knowledge is "information or experience that we believe to be true amd for which we have justification or evidence. Wisdom is the experience or its when you apply that knowledge you have to create a better understanding of something. They say older people are wise and have wisdom, and that may be because older people have been throught things, they have experienced more things than anybody else, simply because they are older and have lived longer. Wisdom is that knowledge that is invaluable and ageless, and it never changes. Wisdom is something that all people can relate to and is true for all circumstances. Some people may have the knowledge to do something but may not acquire the wisdom one may need to accomplish it effectively and successfully. At college I believe on the academic scale we obtaining knowledge but outside of the classroom we are gaining wisdom from life experiences when applying that wisdom. I believe that the information age is creating a genreration that is a lot wiser, because nowadays knowlegde is much more easily obtainable and so with that comes knowledge.

I like how you said that wisdom is something that knowledge that is invaluable and ageless. I never really thought of wisdom like that and how it is something that everyone can relate to. It is so true though. Wisdom is that type of knowledge that is not useful in school but rather something that is more important with our everyday lives outside of school. It is especially something that is gained over time and though experiences. I believe that both knowledge and wisdom are important things needed in your life. With knowledge you will gain wisdom because you will be able to use your knowledge to gain wisdom.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what your saying that wisdom is more based on experience of what you do. Knowledge is based on the the materials and lessons we learn and get from school. I like how you talked about how wisdom is more of an outside of college experience and knowledge you get from in college. I feel like we as students are learning things that are sometimes forced down on us therefore we get knowledge. For wisdom we do things that we want to do and we get the experience which we can use later on in life. It soon becomes a habit for us as we get more wisdom.
